I´m a student from Finland and did a practical training in Vobis from January till March this year. Actually I was doing these interviews myself as a part of my practical training, but later on I was asked to answer to these questions to give a project another point of view. So here I am!
In everyday life in Klagenfurt the best thing was the people. During the day I was more often working with the personnel, volunteers and participants at Vobis, and in the evenings and weekends spending time with other exchange students. Also a huge source of joy for me was the nature – I tended to go to the lake so many times per week. I never got enough of it.
From home I actually didn’t miss that many things. I was in Klagenfurt for such a short time that I knew, that it would have been waste of time to miss anything. But to be honest, in January when it was quite cold, it would have been nice to go to sauna every now and then.
I’m really happy that I’ve had an opportunity and courage to travel and live in many countries already. So I would name travelling to be my biggest achievement in life. Many people just stay in their comfort zone, but I don’t want that. Without Vobis I couldn’t have lived in Austria and made many new contacts and friends, so I’m thankful for that the rest of my life. To Vobis I was always warmly welcomed. My family and friends have also always supported my desitions to work or study abroad.
My dream for the future is that I’ll be happy, wherever I will be and however my life has turned out. Maybe I’ll have my own family one day. If not, I hope that I’m surrounded by other lovely people that I can call my family. I also wish that I have managed to make difference in some people’s lives by helping them.
What I want to say to the readers is that try to enjoy every day of your life and be kind to the others! I think that’s all you need to do.“
